With National Rosé Day approaching (June 9) and the sun peaking its bright eyes out, this weekend is definitely looking up. Whether you’re spending it outside in the fresh air or maybe celebrating the summer air-conditioned indoors, you’ll want a few good jams. As always, we enjoy expanding our musical library each week by finding new artists, new collaborations or new sounds. Or all three! This week, we’re totally grooving to the new Tove Lo banger that features Charli XCX, Icona Pop, Elliphant and Alma; otherwise known as the ultimate girl gang. The Vic Mensa and G-Eazy collab is an automatic hit and after Mensa’s epic performance at Gov Ball, we expect nothing less. Discover the Drax Project, who just released a new EP and are gearing up to tour with Camila Cabello. With songs from Kim Petras and Camille Trust as well, our weekend playlist feels well-rounded and fresh. Listen to all five below.
1. “Only Us” by Drax Project
If you don’t know these guys, listen up. The New Zealand-based four-piece band is gearing up to support superstar Camila Cabello on tour. With the release of their EP Noon comes the track “Only Us,” a sparkly song with a bouncy beat. Incorporating a smooth R&B vibe throughout makes this easy-listening at its finest.
2. “Reverse” by Vic Mensa featuring G-Eazy
Currently on a North American tour, Vic Mensa released this hard-hitting track that was produced by Marshmello and features rapper G-Eazy. “Reverse” is the first song that the Chicago native has released since his debut album The Autobiography dropped in 2017. Turn up the volume on this one, it’s a true summer jam.
3. “Bad Habit” by Camille Trust
This soulful songstress’s debut EP No Other Way is out now and we’re feeling real groovy. To fully show off Trust’s talent, she’s released a live video for “Bad Habit,” featuring a squad of vocalists including our favorite guy, Michael Blume. Trust’s sensual tone paired with her emotional lyrics leave us with all the feels.
4. “Can’t Do Better” by Kim Petras
Kim Petras is currently featured in H&M’s “Pride Out Loud” campaign (in partnership with OUT) and her new track “Can’t Do Better” solidifies her as the pop star our society needs right now. The pop anthem comes with the announcement that Petras will be joining Troye Sivan on his The Bloom Tour in the fall.
5. “Bitches” by Tove Lo featuring Charli XCX, Icona Pop, Elliphant and Alma
Give us a badass squad of female performers any day of the week and we will rock out. This crew though, is beyond epic. From our favorite champagne-drinking pop star Charli XCX to Finnish songstress Alma, Tove Lo recruited the best for her song “Bitches,” off her latest album Blue Lips. The newly released video is cheeky and playful, which is typically Tove Lo’s style, with an emphasis on sexuality. As a proud member of the LGBTQ community, Tove Lo will be headlining at LA PRIDE on June 10 and NY PRIDE on June 23.
