Travel in Time with Fabergé

With nearly 175 years under its belt, Fabergé was presented the highest honor in the watchmaking industry

Fabergé’s timepieces stand for history, elegance, and nearly 175 years of intricate craftsmanship. And recently, Fabergé walked away with the 2016 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. This isn’t just any award. Think Oscars or Olympic Gold Medal-level, the highest recognition among any connoisseur of the Swiss watchmaking industry.

“To win another GPHG award this year is an honor and privilege that we will not take lightly as we approach 2017, a year that marks both the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution and the 175th anniversary of the founding of Fabergé in 1842,” said Fabergé CEO, Sean Gilbertson. “I thank and congratulate the entire Fabergé team, together with Jean-Marc Wiederrecht and his formidable family and posse at Agenhor, for making this award possible by embracing a spirit of mechanical and artistic adventure.”

Saluted in the “Travel Time” category, the brand’s self-winding Visionnaire DTZ timepiece has much to boast about. For the world traveler better off in two places rather than one, Visionnaire DTZ logically and simultaneously displays dual time zones. Perhaps more impressive are the inner workings of the movement created by Agenhor Manufacture. One can view the current location hour through the aperture, whereas the second timezone hour can be seen only head-on, keeping away the hidden treasure of Visionnaire DTZ from pesky wandering eyes.

The aesthetic presents a slim, modern design but will never lose its historical legacy of the Fabergé grandeur. Two versions of the Visionnaire DTZ are available, the first in titanium with 18-karat rose gold and the second in a black DLC-treated titanium with 18-karat white gold, both paired with an alligator strap.
