Located two blocks from the White House, the St. Regis Washington D.C.[1] is the perfect venue for a new in-lobby, pop-up boutique from Montblanc[2] and Thornwillow Press [3]during the presidential inaugural weekend. The shop, situated in the Thornwillow Library, will feature Montblanc writing instruments, leather goods and time pieces, as well as a display of some of the brand’s limited-edition presidential pens.

The boutique will also debut a special volume of stories about past inaugurations, edited by the writer Lewis Lapham and published by Thornwillow Press. EntitledA Presidential Miscellany, the letterpress “libretto” handbook is being gifted to guests staying in the hotel during this time.

Visitors to the Montblanc pop-up are also encouraged to participate in a letter-writing campaign so they can express their hopes and desires for President Obama upon his second term. The letters will later be couriered to the White House for the president to read. (Open from January 18-23.)
