British Polo Day, founded in Dubai in 2009, is being valued more and more as a platform that enables and fosters strong international relationships, leading to greater opportunity overall. As an invite-only event, there is an exclusive reputation since the inspiring group of attendees all enjoy distinct experiences hosted in iconic destinations. The inaugural British Polo Day in New York took place on June 9, with the same quality of attendees and the goal of  inspiring collaboration and camaraderie. With over 250 top British and international players having played at British Polo Day since year one, this year attracted well-known names in the polo world, such as the number one female player in the world, Nina Clarkin and her husband, captain of the New Zealand polo team, JP Clarkin.

The day began with a Nyetimber reception as the NYC Polo Club and UVA team prepared for the first match at 12:15pm. The Chelsea Barracks Lunch included a three-course meal and an auction. Today, there have been 66 British Polo Days in 16 countries spread over five continents and the $2.2 million U.S. dollars raised at these auctions goes straight to charity. Following the lunch and auction, attendees enjoyed a second polo match between Haviland Hollow and British Schools. After the “Across The Pond” Afternoon Tea and the first ever British Polo Day within New York award ceremony, guests were invited to socialize on the great lawn with a polo tradition: walking across the field stomping out the field divots. Altogether, this inaugural New York event brought a wide range of cultures together to enjoy a day of traditions while still inviting the allure of new customs that will be remembered by all.

Exclusive partners of the event included Original Travel, which is launching in the U.S. this summer, as well as Chelsea Barracks, VistaJet, Bentley, Royal Salute and others. Click through the gallery to view more moments from British Polo Day.
