What’s Happening in the Hamptons This Weekend

The most beloved weekend of the summer is finally upon us! But before packing up your bags and heading for the Hamptons to celebrate the Fourth, take a look at our list of the most sought-after events happening out East. We’ve rounded up the coolest invites, from fireworks on the beach and boozy brunches to casual clambakes and excellent concerts. All you have to do is mark your calendars.

 

Thursday, July 3

The Ultimate ‘90s #TBT Party
When: 8pm
Where: The Sloppy Tuna, 148 S. Emerson Ave, Montauk
What: National Geographic and Hamptons Free Ride invite you to join Vanilla Ice as he hosts the ultimate throwback bash. In honor of Nat Geo’s upcoming televised special, ‘90s, The Last Great Decade?, the two will host a blowout theme party at The Sloppy Tuna. With prizes, giveaways and live performances, this is the perfect way to kick off the holiday.

The Second Annual Georgica Clean Water Benefit
When: 8pm
Where: 108 Wainscott Stone Road, Wainscott
What: Make a splash this July 4th weekend at Georgica. The celebration kicks off with a cocktail party followed by a dinner benefiting the Voss Foundation. Afterwards, guests will enjoy a party complete with a performance by American Young.

Friday, July 4

Amagansett Fine Arts Festival
When: 10am
Where: 15 Montauk Highway, Amagansett
What: Start your Fourth with a little bit of culture by heading over to Amagansett for a relaxing morning at the Fine Arts Festival. In addition to paintings, drawings and prints, there will be sculpture, jewelry and crafts on display.
How: Stop in from 10am on.

The Montauk Beach House 2014 Summer Set Music Series
When: 12pm
Where: The Montauk Beach House, 55 S. Elmwood Ave, Montauk
What: Soak up the sunshine poolside and party the day away to beats spun by nightlife connoisseur DJ Jus Ske. And because everything is better as a VIP, reserve a daybed in advance.

26th Annual American Picnic With Fireworks by Grucci
When: 7pm
Where: 1030 Meadow Lane, Southampton
What: What’s the 4th of July without fireworks? With a picnic buffet, arts and crafts, carnival booths and games all located on a gorgeous oceanfront estate, the Grucci Fireworks brings your night to the next level.

Stars Over Montauk
When: 9pm
Where: Umbrella Beach, Montauk
What: Grab a blanket, some friends and find a spot on the beach. For the past 16 years, the Montauk Chamber of Commerce has hosted this popular 25-minute firework display, which takes place about 1/8 of a mile west of the center of Downtown Montauk.
How: Head to the beach and pick a spot in the sand.

 

Saturday July 5

Day & Night Disco Brunch
When: 10am
Where: Sienna Restaurant & Ultra Lounge, 44 Three Mile Road, East Hampton
What: This weekend’s iconic Day & Night brunch will be hosted by Philippe Olivier Bondon and Greg Guillebaut. Partygoers will experience the ultimate meal, crafted by celebrity chef Donatella Arpaia, and music by top NYC DJs.

Halsey House Summer Gala
When: 6pm
Where: The Thomas Halsey Homestead, 249 South Main Street, Southampton
What: Celebrate the nation’s birthday at the annual Halsey House Gala. Located on the grounds of the Thomas Halsey Homestead, guests will enjoy music, light bites, a silent auction, books and wine.

Comedy Evening with Martin Short
When: 7pm
Where: The Drew Theater at Guild Hall, 158 Main Street, East Hampton
What: Tony and Emmy Award-winning actor Martin Short is bringing his comedic genius to the Hamptons. The night of laughter will continue after the performance with a private dinner at a home in East Hampton.

Sunday July 6

Veuve Clicquot Brunch
When: 12pm
Where: Gurney’s Montauk, 290 Old Montauk Highway, Montauk
What: What screams “Hamptons” more than a champagne-filled brunch? Enjoy a glass of Veuve (or three) on the sunny shores of Gurney’s Montauk.

Gosman’s Summer Concert Series
When: 6pm
Where: Gosman’s Dockside Stage, 484 West Lake Drive, Montauk
WhatBillboard magazine predicted that Montauk’s music scene was going to be hot this summer—and they couldn’t have been more right. This weekend’s series features the Nancy Atlas Project[6]. 
How: Bring some seats, your loved ones and enjoy!

Grizfolk At The Surf Lodge
When: 6pm
Where: Surf Lodge, 183 Edgemere Street, Montauk
What: Keep the night going with more great music. Post up lakeside with a celebratory cocktail to end the weekend and unwind to the music of Grizfolk.
